This is a 31 year old Glenrothes from Speyside, bottled as a single cask in the Cask Masters range by Brave New Spirits. It comes from a release of 277 bottles at 43.7%, bottled without chill-filtering or artificial colour.
The whisky spent more than three decades in cask and was finished in an Oloroso sherry cask.
The nose offers dried fig, marmalade and toffee, with old oak, leather and toasted cinnamon. On the palate it is smooth, with Werther's Originals, almond croissants and baked fruit over a dry oak spice. The finish is long and oaky, with apricot and fig.
