Catoctin Creek Cask Proof Roundstone Rye is a single-barrel, cask-strength rye whisky from Catoctin Creek Distilling Company in Purcellville, Virginia. It comes in a 750ml bottle at about 58% ABV, and the exact strength varies from barrel to barrel. The whisky is 100% rye, copper pot-distilled and aged in new charred American white oak. It is never chill filtered, is drawn from the top one per cent of barrels and is released about twice a year, with each bottle individually numbered. Tasting notes describe classic rye spice of caraway, black pepper and cinnamon over caramel and toasted oak, with a long, warming finish.
