Chairman's Reserve Spiced is a spiced rum from St. Lucia Distillers on Saint Lucia. It is built on a blend of pot still and column still rums aged in ex-bourbon barrels.
The blend is infused with local spices and fruits, among them cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, coconut, lemon and orange peel, and Bois Bandé, a Caribbean bark. Some spices steep in the rum for up to a year, while others go in during blending.
The nose offers bitter orange, nutmeg, cinnamon and raisin, with dark chocolate, anise and caramel beneath. The palate is rich and sweet with nutmeg, vanilla and clove, lifted by orange peel. The finish is lightly spicy and long.
