Chapter 7 Whisky Monologue Glenlossie 12 Year Old (70cl, 51.1%)

A 12 year old single malt from Glenlossie in Speyside, bottled by Chapter 7 Whisky in its Monologue range at 51.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in October 2010 and bottled in April 2021, from a bourbon hogshead that yielded 277 bottles. Glenlossie's stills were fitted with purifier pipes from the start, sending heavier alcohols back into the still to be redistilled, which adds an oily texture to the spirit. A long fermentation also encourages a grassiness in the new make. The nose offers sugared almond, spicy oak and milk chocolate. Hazelnut praline, polished oak and berry jam shape the palate, with hints of vanilla fudge. The finish brings orange curd, dried apple and a pinch of nutmeg.
