Charbay R5 No. 5 Hop Flavored Whiskey (75cl)

Charbay R5 No. 5 is a hop-flavoured American whiskey, the fifth release in the Charbay hop whiskey line, in a 75cl bottle. It is made in an Alambic Charentais pot still at Charbay Distillery & Winery on Spring Mountain, St. Helena, California. Charbay was founded in 1983 and is owned and run by Master Distiller Miles Karakasevic and family, whose distilling tradition goes back to 1751 in the former Yugoslavia. Tasting notes describe toasted cinnamon, honeysuckle and flowers on the nose. The palate opens with cloves, allspice and floral notes, then moves to tobacco and earthiness. The finish is herbaceous, long and sweet, with hints of mulling spices.
