Chess Malt Auchroisk 1996 24 Year Old Bishop (48.3%)

This is an independent bottling of Auchroisk, a Speyside single malt distilled in 1996 and bottled after 24 years. It is the Bishop edition of the Chess Malt series, which takes its inspiration from the chessboard. It was bottled at 48.3% ABV, without chill-filtering and with no colour added. The nose opens with honey, ripe apples, citrus and vanilla, with floral notes and a hint of spiced oak. The palate offers malt, dried fruit, baked peach, caramel and mild spice. The finish is long and warm, with oak and orange peel.
