It is produced mainly from Sangiovese grown on the fertile Tuscan hills, where marked day-night temperature variation gives aromatic intensity and persistent freshness. Mature red fruit notes of cherry and plum are balanced with sweet spice and a touch of vanilla from barrique ageing. The structure is well balanced, with mature tannins and a long, harmonious finish. It suits robust Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina or wild boar stew.
