This is a 10 year old Chichibu single malt from Japan, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single first-fill bourbon cask, number 5731, and is one of 144 bottles. It was distilled in 2016.
Takarabune is the final release in the Gods of Fortune series, eight Chichibu bottlings inspired by the seven Japanese gods of fortune. The name is that of the mythical Treasure Ship on which the gods sail together. The bottle has a heavy, custom-made stopper in the series style.
The nose offers ripe tropical fruit, vanilla and creamy sweetness. The palate is rich and full, with tropical fruit, vanilla and creamy malt, and the finish is medium long, slightly dry and clean.
