Chichibu The Peated 2022 is a smoky single malt from Chichibu, made in very small batches and bottled at 53.5% ABV.
Chichibu combines traditional Scottish methods with a Japanese identity, and this release shows how the distillery handles peat: powerful, but with balance.
The nose offers gentle peat smoke, orchard fruits, grapefruit and caramel sweetness. On the palate, firm smoke and brine give way to dried plum, lemon zest, vanilla and caramelised apple. The finish is long, with lingering smoke and a coastal freshness.
