Chief's Son 900 Sweet Peat is a single malt whisky bottled at 45% and matured in ex-fortified French oak barrels. It is a modern, mild take on peated malt, not a heavy hit of smoke, and a touch of water is suggested to bring out the sweet malt and floral peat.
Golden in the glass, it has a nose of crème brûlée, vanilla beans, stewed stone fruits, tobacco and earthy peat. The palate is creamy and sweet, with soft, balanced peat. The finish is medium to long, with warm peated malt, soft sherry and tobacco.
