Chivas Regal 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky made from a number of malt and grain whiskies, each matured for at least 12 years. It comes in a 37.5cl bottle at 40% ABV. Chivas Brothers traces its roots to a grocer's shop opened in Aberdeen in 1801.
The nose is creamy, with vanilla custard, aniseed, lemon curd and butter toffee, followed by wood shavings, dried banana chips and a hint of cassis. On the palate come more banana chips, creamy barley malt, allspice, ground walnut and caramel. The finish has light spice, black pepper and a lingering cereal sweetness.
