This is a 12 year old blended Scotch from Chivas Regal, a limited edition created with Patrick Grant of Norton & Sons, Savile Row. Speyside malts sit at the heart of the blend, Strathisla among them. The brand's first release was a 25 year old, made to appeal to high society in the US, with a higher and more complex malt content than other blends of the time. The name comes from James Chivas, who took over John Forrest's grocery and spirit shop in Aberdeen in 1838.
