Chivas Regal 18 Year is a blended Scotch whisky at 40% ABV, in a 1.75 litre bottle. Master Blender Colin Scott created the recipe, which draws on more than 20 single malts, each aged for at least 18 years.
The blend is anchored by Strathisla, founded in 1786 in Keith, and also includes malts from Longmorn, The Glenlivet, Allt-a-Bhainne, Braes of Glenlivet and Miltonduff, together with grain whisky from Strathclyde distilleries.
The nose combines buttery toffee, orange marmalade, dark chocolate and dried fruit, with cinnamon, vanilla and coconut emerging later. The palate is silky and semisweet, with honeyed malt, winter spices and gentle smoke. The finish is very long and warming, with oak and cinnamon.
