This is a 12 year old Teaninich from the Highlands, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 at 50% ABV for Claxton's Exploration Series. It was bottled exclusively for the Netherlands.
The whisky matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead and is described as a fine example of how an elegant, delicate Diageo malt matures.
The nose is fresh apples, lychee, sea salt, mint and citrus, with hints of Cointreau. The palate is elegant and lightly waxy, with cinnamon, salt and mandarin, lightly drying. The finish is elegant and rich, sweetly spiced and drying.
