Climax Wood-Fired Whiskey is an American whiskey from Climax Spirits, the brand of Tim Smith, in a 750ml bottle at 45% ABV. It is made from his century-old moonshine recipe, a distillate of corn and malted barley.
The whiskey is aged and filtered with toasted oak and maple wood, which give it its amber colour and smoky character, and it is then cooled in oak containers.
The nose offers toasted oak, caramel and vanilla with a hint of maple sweetness and char. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with caramel, honey and gentle smoke, followed by a long, warming finish of spice, oak and sweet vanilla.
