Clonakilty Port Cask Finish is an Irish whiskey finished in port casks. It is a single batch, put together by the distillers at Clonakilty from an 8 year old grain whiskey and a 10 year old triple distilled malt.
The nose is fresh and creamy, with ripe peaches and zesty notes and a little wood in the background. The palate is very fruity, with peach and zest, soft spices, and some chilli and cardamom towards the end.
The finish is medium-long, with a gentle pepperiness as the spices linger and soften.
