Clyde May's Alabama Style Whiskey draws on Clyde May's original moonshining recipe from Conecuh Ridge, Alabama, and is distilled and bottled by Conecuh Ridge Distillery. It is bottled at 85 proof (42.5% ABV) in a 750ml bottle.
Unlike a traditional bourbon, it is aged in new American oak barrels and finished with oven-dried apples, which add a touch of natural sweetness.
It is deep golden amber. The nose has baked apple, caramel and vanilla with a touch of cinnamon. The palate is warm and smooth, with brown sugar, toffee, oak and subtle fruit. The finish is silky and medium in length, with honey, apple and spice.
