Colliforti Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG Riserva Risveglio 2021

Risveglio 2021 is a Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG Riserva from Colliforti, made with at least 90% Sangiovese. The grapes come from a selected vineyard at 245 metres with south-west exposure, on volcanic soil rich in sandstone, marl and calcareous clay. Hand-harvested and selected, the wine ferments in steel, spends three months on fine lees, matures for at least 24 months in French oak barriques and rests for at least 12 months in bottle. It is ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose offers ripe red fruit, jam, liquorice, vanilla and sweet wood. On the palate it is warm, structured and harmonious, with freshness, mineral sapidity, fine integrated tannins and a long persistent finish. About 3,000 bottles are produced each year.
