Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Batch 10 is the 2021 bottling of a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 127.3 proof (63.65%) in a 750ml bottle. The series honours Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr.
It is drawn from hand selected barrels of Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1, a low rye recipe, and aged in new charred oak in warehouses built by Taylor.
The nose has dark caramel, seasoned oak, toasted nuts, dried cherry, pipe tobacco and baking spice. The palate is full bodied, with brown sugar, toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, leather and a peppery bite. The finish is long and warming, with oak tannin, molasses and lingering spice.
