Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Batch 14 is the 2025 edition of this Buffalo Trace bourbon, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 127.2 proof (63.6%) in a 75cl bottle. The line honours Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr.
It is drawn from hand selected barrels of Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1, a low rye recipe, and aged in new charred oak in century old warehouses built by Taylor.
The nose has dark caramel, seasoned oak, baking spice and soft red fruit. The palate balances cherry cordial, pumpkin pie and graham cracker with cardamom, cinnamon, clove and black tea, and the finish is long with red licorice, gentle tannin and warm spice.
