Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr Barrel Proof is a bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery and named after one of bourbon's founding pioneers. It is bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered, so the strength shifts from batch to batch, typically around 125 to 130 proof.
The nose offers rich caramel, toasted oak, dark fruit, vanilla and baking spice. The palate brings caramel, toffee, cinnamon, roasted nuts, dark cherry and charred oak. The finish is long and warming, with spice, oak and deep caramel sweetness.
