Flaming Heart 2022 is the seventh edition of Compass Box's blended malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 48.9% in an edition of 9,606 bottles.
The blend draws on Peat Monster Arcana and Flaming Heart 2018, along with whisky from Laphroaig and Glen Elgin. It rested in toasted French oak casks for over five years, and is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose is smouldering embers, toasted oak, gingerbread and waxy lemon. On the palate come meaty smoke, sizzling bacon, caramelised maple and baking spices, and the finish stays smoky as pepper builds.
