Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend Single Marrying Cask (70cl, 49%)

Formerly called Great King Street Glasgow Blend, this is a blended Scotch with a high single malt content, bottled at 49% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The blend includes malt matured in Oloroso sherry-seasoned butts and a powerfully peaty Islay single malt. It is the sixth single cask release in Compass Box's 15th Anniversary range. The whisky was made from a single marrying cask, used to mature whisky after the initial blending has taken place, a nod to the secondary maturation that was once common in Scotch. The palate is full, rich and smoky, with sticky toffee pudding, sherry wine character and impressions of a coal fire.
