Compass Box Peat Monster Arcana

Peat Monster Arcana is a limited bottling of the Compass Box Peat Monster blended malt, made to explore what French oak does to peated whisky. The recipe includes a portion of a cask-strength Peat Monster that spent two years in French oak casks, which had earlier held part of the Compass Box Highland malt blend. This softened the smokiness and added creamy, chocolatey and spicy notes. The nose offers nectarine, peach and caramel with sea air and tarry ropes. Fragrant ginger and cinnamon lead the palate, and the finish brings ash, pear skin and milk chocolate.
