Spice Tree is a blended malt from Compass Box, made from Highland malt whiskies and aged in specially made casks with new French oak heads. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The first version briefly fell outside SWA regulations. After its creation was adjusted, it returned. In April 2015 it was named Best Blended Malt Scotch at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is fragrant and aromatic, with dried herbs, spices, oak and vanilla, plus a bourbon note and a peppery tang. The palate is rich and peppery, with gingernut biscuits, toffee spices, herbs and vanilla. The finish is very spicy, big and rich.
