The Peat Monster is a blended malt from Compass Box, made by combining peated single malt whiskies from different regions of Scotland.
The idea is to balance peaty, smoky aromas and flavours with malty and fruity ones. Compass Box acknowledges that peatier, smokier whiskies exist in Scotland, and points instead to the class and style of the blend, which it considers unique in Scotch whisky.
