The Peat Monster is a peaty blended malt from Compass Box, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It contains malt whiskies from Islay together with some Highland malt, and is richly smoky with underlying hints of fruit and oak.
The nose is peaty and salty with a medicinal note, leaning towards Caol Ila in style, and sweet, fruity and grainy. The palate runs from peat and oak to floral, coppery and smoky bacon notes, with a hint of papaya. The finish is a lingering sweetness with more peat, roses and violets, sweet spice and oak.
