The Spaniard is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Around 48% of the blend matured in ex-sherry butts and roughly 25% in ex-Spanish red wine barriques. It is bottled at natural colour and without chill filtration.
The nose brings toasted English muffin with orange marmalade, ripe quince and sweet citrus peel, with baking spice and soft oak behind. On the palate, honey and orange zest lead into cinnamon, dried apricot and a gentle red-fruit note. The finish is medium in length, drying to oak and black tea, with a trace of marmalade sweetness.
