The Story of the Spaniard is a Scotch blended malt from Compass Box, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It was inspired by a chance meeting in a Spanish bar and by the wines of the Iberian Peninsula.
It is made mainly from Highland single malts aged in a range of Spanish wine and sherry casks, including first-fill and seasoned casks from Spain. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The tasting notes describe ripe red berries, figs and orange peel on the nose, with vanilla and sweet spice. The palate has juicy fruit, dark chocolate and cinnamon, and the finish is long, with sherry warmth.
