Compass Box The Story of the Spaniard

The Story of the Spaniard is a blended malt from Compass Box, made from Highland and Speyside whiskies. About 48% of the blend matured in sherry casks and 25% in Spanish red wine casks, with the remainder in a mix of French and American oak. The name recalls a chance meeting between the company's founder and a man in the south of Spain, where the founder first came across sherry. The nose brings citrus, peach and rich red wine and sherry notes, with vanilla, berries, cherries and dried plums. The palate is full and round, with citrus, pear, chocolate and raisins, and the finish is long with cherry, cinnamon and mint.
