Merchants' Quay is a five-year-old Irish single grain from Copeland, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The grain whisky was distilled at the Great Northern Distillery in County Louth. Copeland looks after the casking and bottling for the Merchants' Quay series.
It matured in American bourbon casks, then finished in a Moscatel hogshead and a Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers juicy fruit, caramelised apple and demerara sugar. The palate brings mandarin, dates in dulce de leche, black cherry and honey, with warm oak and spice. The finish is dry sherry, brown sugar and mild spice.
