Coppercraft Distillery Rye is an American rye whiskey from Holland, Michigan, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It blends barrels distilled on site with rye sourced from Indiana, all aged for at least two years. The mashbill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
Master Blender Nancy Fraley applied French cognac methods to the maturation, warehousing and blending, including a brandy-style proofing that takes three months from barrel to bottle.
The nose offers butterscotch, brown sugar, bergamot and spearmint. The palate moves from vanilla cream to peppercorn spice, then mocha and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is medium-long, with coffee, cocoa and leather.
