A 12 year old Cragganmore from Speyside, released in 2019 as part of Diageo's annual Special Releases under the name By Nature. It was finished in refill American oak casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.4%, without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
A light peat influence is unusual for the distillery and adds a smoky edge to its herbal sweetness. The 2019 design features a winged fox.
The nose combines dried flowers, fresh herbs, cereal sweetness, bonfire smoke, toasted nuts and warm honey. Honeycomb, toffee, green fruit and cracked pepper lead the palate, with citrus and grassy notes. The finish is long and dry, with light smoke, vanilla cream and soft spice.
