This is the 2020 Distillers Edition from Cragganmore, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv. It was distilled in 2008, matured for 12 years and bottled in 2020.
A finish in Port casks adds red fruit notes to the oaky, peaty core of the whisky.
The nose brings roast chestnuts, redcurrants, strawberries and a touch of smoked meats. On the palate are hickory, honeycomb, walnut, waxy orange, red apple and blackberry. The finish is lingering and salty, with a hint of chocolate truffle.
