Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added caramel colouring. The distillery's fruity, muscular character comes from its use of worm tub condensers.
It was first matured in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. Half the blend was then finished in first-fill Sherry casks and the rest in first-fill Bourbon casks.
The nose is likened to Bonfire Night: toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apples studded with cloves, with a touch of cordite in the background.
