Cutwater Joven Mezcal is an unaged agave spirit from Durango, Mexico, bottled at 45% and labelled with a Denominación de Origen Protegida. It is made to show the character of the agave with a natural smokiness.
The nose brings roasted agave, campfire smoke, black pepper, earth and light herbal notes. On the palate it is clean and structured, with smoky agave, mineral undertones, cracked pepper, a little citrus and a savoury depth.
The finish is long, dry and warming, with lingering smoke, spice and earthy agave. It can be sipped neat or used in a Mezcal Margarita or Oaxacan Old Fashioned.
