This is an extra-old Bas-Armagnac from Dartigalongue, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a blend of several vintages in which the youngest eau-de-vie has spent at least 25 years in Gascon oak, alongside some that are far older.
The barrels are never completely emptied, so decades-old Armagnac is present in each new blend. The spirit is distilled once in an Armagnac column still at Nogaro.
The nose offers vanilla, dried fruit and spice, with white flowers appearing after a little air. The palate is intense, with dried fruit, spice and hints of rancio, and the finish carries liquorice.
