Davidson Reserve Four Grain is a small batch Tennessee straight bourbon whiskey from the Pennington Distilling Company in Nashville, a family-run independent distillery founded in 2011. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey is a blend of three Davidson Reserve whiskeys: a Tennessee straight rye, a Tennessee straight sour mash and a Tennessee straight bourbon. The proportions change from batch to batch, so each release has its own character.
The nose brings cinnamon and almond with cherry, plum and caramel. On the palate it is oily and warm, with plum, dates and toasted coconut, then chocolate, rye spice and cocoa powder. The finish is long and dry, with oak.
