Deanston – 17 Year Old Orange Wine Cask Finish (70cl, 53.6%)

This is a 17 year old Highland single malt from Deanston, bottled at 53.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It spent 15 years in ex-bourbon casks and then two years in Vino de Naranja casks from Andalucía, a fortified wine made with sun-dried bitter orange peel and aged in a solera. Master Blender Julieann Fernandez, who grew up between Scotland and southern Spain, chose the finish to bring the citrus bitterness of the orange wine against the distillery's honeyed character. It is unfiltered and of natural colour, limited to 7,000 bottles worldwide.
