This is a 28 year old Highland single malt from Deanston, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2026 by The Whisky Jury. It comes from a single refill barrel, number 3456, and was bottled at a cask strength of 53.2%. The outturn is 244 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. Despite its time in a refill barrel, the whisky looks comparatively dark in the glass. A distinctly waxy character shapes the palate, balanced by plenty of fruit and a creamy texture. A fine polish note comes through in the finish, where the waxy mouthfeel adds extra expression.
