Devils River Rye is a Texas rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle at 45% ABV, first released in the autumn of 2018. It is distilled in copper pot stills from a mash of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley.
It is aged in dark number 4 charred oak barrels and reduced with limestone-filtered water from the Devils River. The brand uses its own chill filtration.
The nose is spicy rye, pepper and oak with caramel, brown sugar and orange zest. The palate is spice-forward, with maple, honey, plum, fennel and black pepper, and the finish is clean and rich with vanilla, dried apple and pepper.
