Dewar's 12 Year Double Aged is a blended Scotch whisky in a 750ml bottle at 43% ABV. It combines selected malt and grain whiskies, each 12 years old, put together by the Dewar's Master Blender.
The name refers to a further six months of marriage in oak after the first maturation and blending, a practice that continues. It is the successor to the earlier Dewar's 'Double Aged' 12 Year Old.
The nose is juicy fruit and creamy malt, floral and sweet, with toasted barley, almond and a hint of honey. The palate offers barley malt, hot buttered toast, a little honey and aniseed spice. The finish has a touch of smoke, thick malt and sweetness.
