Dewar's 12 Year Old The Ancestor is a blended Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. It is the successor to Dewar's Double Aged 12 Year Old, a name that referred to the extra six months the whisky spends marrying in oak after its first maturation and blending.
That additional marriage continues under the new name. The whisky is described as full of flavour.
