Alter Ego is a triple cask straight bourbon from Doc Swinson's, finished using two types of sherry butt, Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso, along with Cognac puncheons.
The marrying process ends with a long rest in ex-Cognac foeders. The sherry butts come from Montilla-Moriles in Spain, one of the oldest fortified wine regions, where the sherry solera pyramids date back to the 1920s. They took some extensive searching to find.
