A straight bourbon from Doc Swinson's, and the first release from the brand to focus on virgin oak profiles.
It was aged for at least five years in new American oak casks, then finished in toasted French oak casks. The Exploratory Cask looks beyond American oak, the wood most bourbon is matured in, to see what a different oak species brings.
The toasted French oak is said to add notes of creme brulee and butterscotch.
