Scallywag Winter Edition 2023 is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, the fourth annual release in its limited-edition Winter Series. It brings together Speyside single malt Scotch whiskies matured only in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry butts.
It is bottled in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 52.5% ABV, without added colouring or chill filtration.
The nose is warm gingerbread, spiced oak and orange rind, with dark chocolate, dried fruits and gentle cinnamon. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with cocoa, forest berries and nutty malt, and sherry brings caramelised fruit and warming spice. The finish is long, with dates, forest fruits, cocoa and festive spices.
