Dumbarton – 27 Year Old Living Souls (48.4%)

Dumbarton 27 Year Old is a single grain Scotch whisky from the closed Dumbarton Distillery, selected and bottled by Living Souls in 2026 at 48.4% ABV. It spent 27 years in refill bourbon barrels. Production at Dumbarton stopped in 2002 and the distillery was later demolished. The refill oak has been a gentle influence, so the grain spirit has developed over nearly three decades without being dominated by the cask. The nose offers mandarin peel, honeyed almonds and ripe grapes. On the palate come orange sherbet, coconut cream and papaya, and the finish brings candied ginger and fresh lemon zest.
