This is a 10 year old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Eagle Rare, made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is aged for at least ten years in new charred American oak barrels and bottled at 90 proof (45%).
Eagle Rare was created in 1975 by Seagram master distiller Charles L. Beam. Each barrel is selected for a consistent character that still keeps some individuality.
The nose is toffee, orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and toasted oak. The palate is bold and dry, with oak, candied almonds, rich cocoa, dried fruit, melon and raisins over a light vanilla note. The finish is dry and long, with roasted nuts, corn and lingering oak spice.
