Eagle Rare 12 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, using Mash Bill #1, a low rye recipe. It was launched in June 2025 as a permanent part of the Eagle Rare range. The bourbon is aged for a minimum of 12 years in new charred American oak. It is a small batch made from hand selected barrels, bottled at 95 proof (47.5%).
The nose opens with caramel, chestnut, seasoned oak, brown sugar and cocoa powder. On the palate come brown sugar, baking spice, dark cherry, dried fruit and toasted nut. The long finish has dry oak tannin, caramel, vanilla and gentle spice.
