Early Times Bottled in Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. It follows the US Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897: one distiller, one distillery, one distilling season, and a minimum of four years under government supervision.
It is distilled at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, now part of the Sazerac family. The mash bill is high in corn, and the barrels mature in heat-cycled warehouses.
The nose is light caramel corn with citrus rind, honey and soft oak. The palate brings soft caramel corn, shortbread, a hint of chocolate and oak, and a trace of cinnamon. The finish is medium, with caramel corn lingering.
